Anne of Green Gables

I had a gift card to Amazon so decided to buy the Anne of Green Gables DVDs. It's been a number of years since I've watched the movies. I have REALLY enjoyed them. If you haven't seen them for a while-or never-I HIGHLY recommend them. The values in the show are superb. Whenever one of the main characters makes a mistake they are really quick to admit their faults and ask for forgiveness. This happens a number of times during the show. Man, wish we were more like that now-a-days! There are also a bunch of great lines that speak truth:
Marilla: To despair is to turn your back on God.
Miss Stacey: Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it.
Marilla (referring to Anne): She's no good for us Matthew. (Matthew's response): We might be good for her.
Anne (commenting on city vs. country life): I think I would probably come to the conclusion that I'd like it for a while... but in the end, I'd still prefer the sound of the wind in the firs across the brook more than the tinkling of crystal.

The production itself is also fantastic. Usually when I watch plays and movies my mind in constantly critiquing and thinking, "they should have done that different, or this." I haven't thought that once. The music is great, acting, script, cinematography, sets, costumes, etc, etc, etc-ALL great! It's just a well done movie! I'm part way through the sequel and am still loving it!!! (I'll admit, I'm apprehensive to watch The Continuing Story...I purposely have never seen it but now that I own it I'm going to give it a try.)

Ballroom

I teach an early morning ballroom class for 2 months with one of the scene teachers here. We always go to a competition. We did really well this year! All the teams get placed Bronze, Silver, or Gold. We took four teams: 2 were placed Bronze and 2 were placed Gold. We had two couple recieve medals for Top Scores (meaning they got a lot of points) and another couple recieved Top Performance (to be honest, I'm not sure what that means!) Then our school recieved the Spirit Award (I think we were the best cheerers because a good chunk of the team are drama students...hmmm!!)Here's some photos of the dancing. You can tell they're having FUN!!

Spring Break

I began Spring Break a day early. I flew to AZ to visit Mare and the fam on Friday. The kids are old enough that they will remember that Aunt Mel came for a visit.

Reading books and drinking milk shakes on the lawn-can life get any better!

We took a hike/walk Saturday morning.

This is a very handsome man! Aunt Mel loves him! Look at that smile!

I'm now back and plan on reading a lot, going to zumba, walking and roller blading up the canyon, I get to go to my first official Joseph rehearsal, and I'm going to start making (and hopefully finish) The Taming of the Shrew video

Joseph

Michael and I auditioned for, and made it into, Murray city's production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. FUN! We perform in June. I'm Asher's Wife and Thing is Issachar. So far it seems like it's going to be a good cast!

I'm still Alive!

Yes, I still exist! No fun photos of anything. My Drama II class are doing One Acts in 2 weeks so perhaps I'll post some photos from that when I get some!
Life is good-I'm enjoying having time reading in the afternoon and actually making dinner. I even had time/energy (energy is really the key word-you can always find time for anything!!) to play the piano last night! I had to take a month break from Zumba when Birdie was getting crazy and I've been able to go consistently the past 3 weeks-it makes me feel healthy in a fun way!! I attend classes at the Orem Rec Center.
I'm checking out an institute class this evening...we'll see how that goes and am planning on auditioning for a few shows. So, there is a quick update on my exciting life!
